Heuristic Leadership T4 steps Model

The word heuristic was derived from Archimedes’ famous exclamation 'Eureka!' (ancient Greek: εὑρίσκω, find or discover), when he discovered, during a bath, a method for determining whether King Hiero’s golden crown was in fact made of pure gold. A heuristic technique often called simply a heuristic, is any approach to problem solving, learning, or discovery that employs a practical method not guaranteed to be optimal or perfect, but sufficient for the immediate goals. According to the legend, Archimedes shouted 'Eureka!' (I found it!), and jumped out of the bathtub after finding the solution. Legend also says, that he continued shouting 'Eureka!' while running naked through the streets of Syracuse to finish his examination of the crown. Heuristic is encouraging a person to learn, discover, understand, or solve problems on his or her own, as by experimenting, evaluating possible answers or solutions, or by trial and error. As the name suggests Heuristic leaders are capable of leading at constant tension irrespective of the load acting on them. Heuristic leadership, according to Nir Golan, educational and leadership expert, is coincidence in time.
Heuristic Leadership T4 steps model is an instructional tool that effectively uses technology to strengthen a leader's experience. It is based on technology that is in constant progress, it emphasizes high-quality instruction and provides access to challenging content, opportunities for leading anytime and anywhere.
Because of all the technology changes and innovations, there is a need for a model that organizes the Heuristic Leadership process into a chain of links.
Heuristic Leadership T4 steps Model based on the Significant Individual Learning model (SIL), was developed by Nir Golan, educational and leadership expert, in order to help leaders to develop their uniqueness leadership in the Digital Age.

Heuristic Leadership T4 steps Model:
The steps create the Leadership Chain as ongoing never-ending process.
1.   Motivation: Need definition
·      The leader identifies and reflects a Global need: the need is leading him/her to do things that they haven't done before.
2.   Action: Transformation from Strategy to Action
·      The leader performs the action for the first time. The leader then describes the action, helping him/her to improve the repeated action, making it a standard behavior.
3.   Conceptualization: Norm & Value definition
·      Understanding by the leader of the benefits of turning the behavior into the norm in order to reinforce the behavior in a social context.
·      The value becomes the guiding principle to making future decisions connected to the behavior; helping decide when and how to use this behavior.
4.   Habitual Vision
·      The values assist in redefining his/her unique vision. The leader knows how to describe his/her newly unique vision and explain what their unique contribution is to those around them.

Each step contains 2 skills or abilities:
1.   Motivation: Need definition
Critical Thinking & Global Awareness
2.   Action: Transformation from Strategy to Action
Problem Solving & Proactive Creativity
3.   Conceptualization: Norm & Value definition
Communication, Collaboration & Tolerance to diversity
4.   Habitual Vision

Details of the skills or abilities:
1.   Motivation: Need definition
Critical Thinking & Global Awareness
·      Critical thinking: Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from.
·      Global awareness: a conceptual understanding based upon an applicable knowledge of global and cultural perspectives.
2.   Action: Transformation from Strategy to Action
Problem Solving & Proactive Creativity
·      Problem solving: the ability to use cognitive processing in order find a solution to a difficult question or situation.
·      Creativity: the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patters, relationships, and to create meaningful new ideas, the ability to make new things or think of new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc.
3.   Conceptualization: Norm & Value definition

·      Tolerance to Diversity is the ability to recognize the differences and commonalities among people from which they can begin to understand each other, respect it, and be tolerated.
4.   Habitual Vision
Heuristic leadership encompasses many different facets, tools, and applications to support and empower Heuristic leaders. This way is the only way to survive our repeatedly changed world. The power of Heuristic Leadership T4 steps Model is by integrating all the skills. Heuristic leaders are most useful in the world for high precision situations. Putin as a Heuristic Leader

Vladimir Putin was elected President of Russia on March 26, 2000, and was re-elected to a second term on March 14, 2004. On May 8, 2008, he was appointed Prime Minister by presidential executive order.
He was officially inaugurated on May 7, 2000.
Heuristic leadership, according to Nir Golan, educational and leadership expert, is coincidence in time.
Heuristic leaders are most useful in the world for high precision situations. Heuristic leadership should be consistent innovation, effective integration of technology, meaningful professional development, global connecting and an open mind.
Heuristic leader does the connection of leadership in conjunction to events, as in history.
The Heuristic Leaders will be very much empowered by the world and should take an active part in the global development team – from decision making to execution, having a broad understanding of overall considerations.

In his inauguration speech Putin said, "We have common aims, we want our Russia to be a free, prosperous, flourishing, strong and civilized country, a country that its citizens are proud of and that is respected internationally." The Heuristic leader isn't only a leader of a country, he is a global leader: he leads a global process from end to end (E2E), regardless of a specific location: he is an integrator, innovator and professional trusted adviser.
He added that he would be guided solely by the interests of the state. "Perhaps it will not be possible to avoid mistakes, but what I can promise and what I do promise is that I will work openly and honestly."
He doesn't lead yet, a global team: a Global Development Team Unit (GDTU). The GDTU is a global professional team built up of experts from all around the world, who work as a global team.
"I consider it to be my sacred duty to unify the people of Russia, to rally citizens around clear aims and tasks, and to remember every day and every minute that we have one Motherland, one people and one future."

Heuristic leader must have the following essential skill sets, which some of them Putin is still missing:
·      Technological proficiency: expertise in all the digital nets and tools

·      Collaboration: the ability to work as a part of a team, required to have a broad view of the project, have holistic consideration and collaborate with others in order to achieve this goal.

·      Communication: message transfer and transformation

·      Global awareness: a whole world vision

·      Problem solving: analyzing and perfectionism

·      Creativity: thinking out of the box

·      Critical thinking: evaluation skills

These skills and processes should be at the heart of every decision a Heuristic leader makes and are the keys to leading people with the tools to success in their life.

Vladimir Putin was re-elected to a second presidential term on March 14, 2004. In his Address to the Federal Assembly on May 26, 2004, Putin said, "Our goals are very clear. We want high living standards and a safe, free and comfortable life for the country. We want a mature democracy and a developed civil society. We want to strengthen Russia’s place in the world. But our main goal, I repeat, is to bring about a noticeable rise in our people’s prosperity." Heuristic leader must have a dynamic combination of mindset, behaviors, and skills that are employed to change and enhance the world through the use of technology.

"We have better knowledge today of our own potential and we know what resources we have at our disposal. We understand the obstacles we could face in reaching the goals we have set and we are actively modernizing the state in order to make sure that its functions correspond to the present stage of Russia’s development – that of achieving a real rise in living standards." Heuristic leader should do consistent innovation, effective integration of technology, meaningful professional development, global connecting and an open mind. A heuristic technique often called simply a heuristic, is any approach to problem solving, learning, or discovery that employs a practical method not guaranteed to be optimal or perfect, but sufficient for the immediate goals.

Five Heuristic Leadership Guide Lines

1.   Creating a Vision: the first thing a Heuristic Leadership needs is a Vision based on Problem solving combined with Creativity.
Problem solving: analyzing and perfectionism/ Creativity: thinking out of the box. The vision that the Heuristic Leader should create is a result of the output of problem solving and innovation. This proactive vision is a combination of both problem solving and innovation.

2.   Planning a Program: miles stones in order to operate the vision.
Global awareness: a whole world vision/ Digital Technological proficiency: expertise in all the digital nets and tools to communicate the vision and create "A Voluntary Army".

3.   Global Awareness is the sum of the different global streams that are ongoing at every moment. It's the sum of all the ongoing events.
The power of the streams is monitored by the Digital Media which controls the width and the flow of the streams along with their power. The digital media controls them and therefore the Heuristic Leader should be a professional digital technologist and use it in a wise way while planning a program.

4.   Leading a team: Heuristic Leader can't lead the world by himself.
Collaboration: the ability to work as a part of a team, required to have a broad view of the program, have holistic consideration and collaborate with others in order to achieve this goal.
Communication: message transfer and transformation.
The Heuristic Leader should work in a team; locally and globally. He should be a master in collaboration using all his communication skills.

5.     Assessment: the ability to evaluate his performance.
Critical thinking: evaluation skills.
Heuristic Leader should dare and be brave. Heuristic Leader involves making decisions using critical thinking, with wisdom and a clear mind. Heuristic Leader is not afraid to use his critical abilities to lead forward even if it's against all other opinions. He is confident of the decisions that he makes. His eyes are wide open to analyze the situation in a critically sharp way.
